About Us

Local roots,
personal service.

Canoe Street Properties is a Hall family-owned property management company based in Bellingham, Washington. Our portfolio spans four distinctive properties across Bellingham and Lynden, from the 1900 Red Front Building to the iconic Dutch Village Mall windmill.

Our name is carved in stone — literally. Above the front column of our Red Front Building, the words “Canoe St.” mark the original name of what is now Commercial Street, and the source of our company’s name.

We believe great buildings deserve great stewardship. Our tenants are local businesses, working professionals, and creative entrepreneurs who value character, location, and a property manager who actually picks up the phone.

Dutch Village Mall

655 Front St, Lynden

Built in 1987 from a former car dealership as the centerpiece of Lynden's Dutch heritage tourism plan. The city had begun promoting its Dutch roots in the 1980s. Lynden was founded in 1870 by Phoebe Judson and saw waves of Dutch immigration in the early 1900s, and Dutch Village Mall, crowned by a 72-foot working windmill and originally featuring a 150-foot canal, became the icon of that effort. The building also houses Lynden Performing Arts Guild's 160-seat Claire Theatre.
